“A returned soldier wants to take his own life due to a war injury, but then realizes that life is still worth living and decides to fight for it, especially for his daughter.”
THE MEMORY - A drama about the hard strokes of life, but finding the strength to keep fighting.
The soldier Mike (35) comes back from war with a bad injury on his right knee. When he isn´t even able to stand up anymore, his desperation takes over him and he takes an over-dose of pain-killers. Then he relives a memory, in which he was nothing but happy. But is this memory enough, to find the strength to fight again?
When the idea first came into my mind, I would have never thought that this whole thing would become so big. I mean it is my first movie! But thanks to an amazing team we could make my vision reality and I´m forever grateful for that. I believe that we were really able to transport a message – and that´s exactly what all my films are about. Carrying a message. Just having the ability to reach out to people through this medium of film is all the motivation I need. And the hope to make the world maybe a little bit better.
In making the film “The Memory” it was important to me to transport the viewer into a past world. Through realistic lighting and well considered image compositions, we were able to realize this vision in the present day.
In addition, the video shoot showed me that despite planning, you should remain open to new ideas during the actual production. Through the impressions on set and the impacts from the actors, visions change and new images can arise that enrich the film.
„The longer I am allowed to stand in front of the camera, the more I become aware that professionalism does not have much to do with equipment or the financing of a project. It is the attitude, efficient communication, passion and the irrepressible urge to create something. Experiences like these give me the necessary motivation to stay awake.
